About this speaker

Eloise is a special educational needs teacher, currently working at Blackfriars Academy in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. She started her journey into special education through her bachelor’s degree in Conductive Education, where she specialised in working with children with motor disorders.

Following her PGCE, Eloise began working at a local authority special school and began working with students with complex needs. Eloise then went on to complete a Master's Degree in Education, where she researched and investigated the impact of using the structured literacy approach ‘Four Blocks’, with students who had a complex communication need in her school.

Eloise then took up a new role, as class teacher in a secondary special academy. She now leads the exploratory pathway provision at this school, which consists of learners with severe and complex needs. Eloise is passionate in ensuring students are offered an education which inspires them to lead a happy, fulfilling and as fun-filled life as is possible.
