About this speaker

Jennifer McComas is a Professor of Special Education/Educational Psychology and the Rodney S. Wallace Professor for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning at the University of Minnesota.

Her translational research informs both basic behavioural science and applied interventions for improving early communication and addressing severe problem behaviour. She directs a telehealth lab which overcomes geographic barriers to allow frequent interactions with families of individuals with complex communication needs, intellectual and developmental disorders, and severe behaviour problems.

Dr. McComas has over 70 peer-reviewed empirical research papers and her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Education. She has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Behavioral Education and Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, and currently serves as guest Associate Editor and on the editorial board of a number of scholarly journals.
