In this talk Gill Townend gives an introduction to Rett syndrome, its underlying genetics and outward phenotypic presentation. She presents an overview of what we know about the communicative and cognitive aspects of the syndrome and points to how the Rett Syndrome Communication Guidelines can help guide and support families and professionals.
